Ski goggle pioneer Bob Smith, 78, dies in Calif.

KETCHUM, Idaho — Robert Earl "Bob" Smith, an orthodontist whose passion for skiing deep powder snow helped turn him into a goggle and sunglasses pioneer, has died of complications related to heart surgery.
